This charger/transmitter has the best reception of any that I've owned (that would be 3 so far). The charger has a stiff cord attached where you mount the charger/transmitter and it's flexible so you can move it to an ideal angle. I have an Otterbox phone protector for my iPhone 4s and it does not fit on the charger with the Otterbox protector - you have to remove it. The only downside that I have found so far is that this charger won't scan through FM stations to find the best one, you have to do it manually. On the upside, you can pre-progam 4 stations.
